Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful dads out there! Jaret said that his day went well. I guess we can count it as a success if he feels it is. It has been fun for me to watch and reflect on Jaret as a father. He loves his little girls and is so good about trying to teach them with every opportunity. One of the most recent fun things that Jaret has done for Holland happened yesterday. We've been wanting to get her a bike for quite a while now. He stopped at a yard sale yesterday and happened to find an adorable little princess bike! It was perfect! It also came with a helmet, elbow and knee pads, and the cute little pom poms that stick out of the handle bars. Holland loves it! The only problem is that she can't ride it just yet. It is a little big for her and doesn't have training wheels. We would love to find a balance bike to start her out with. Anyway, it was pretty fun to see how excited Jaret was to give it to Holland. He loved giving it to her and was excited when she told him thank you all by her self! It was a cute moment.
I guess it shows that my perspective is transitioning when the first man I think of, as I think about this special day, is my husband. I love and adore my own father and he is a great example to me. I have such a warm and loving feeling as I think of the sacrifices that my dad has made for me. I've been truly blessed. My dad is one of the people that I trust the most. Some of the things I admire most in him is that he's a great example of serving others and managing his money. He is willing to bend over backwards for his family and friends.
Another fun thing about today was that I was given a double jogging stroller! It's probably more of a project at this point then actually a stroller, but with a little elbow grease and creativity I think it can eventually do the trick. I'm excited and up for the project. The seat has some pretty good tears and the tires need to be replaced but it's pretty much what I've been hoping for. We'll see if we can get it up and "running" so that IF summer ever comes the girls and I can go out together and enjoy it!
Happy Fathers Day!
