Sunday Bike Ride

Sourdough Trail

We decided to go for a family bike ride yesterday.  We all had a pretty good time.  I think Jaret was the most excited.  Just the thought of getting out onto a trail with his bike made him giddy.

Half way up Holland decided she wanted to get out and "walk".  As we were shoving our bikes up the trail hill she started pushing the bike trailer.  It quickly turned into a ride and we could hardly get her off the back.    She was standing and holding on with one hand and one foot.  She even tried to turn around as Jaret was peddling but I'm glad to say she didn't push it.  Jaret and I were impressed with her acrobats and ability to hold on.  She is a strong little thing.

Brookie was out for quite a while.

We stopped for some pictures.

Brookie awoke.

I thought this picture was funny.  Jaret was actually having a great time!

We stopped to let the kids play in a shallow part of the stream then had a BBQ.  Hotdogs with no buns or condiments.  Talk about an easy BBQ.

Date Night

Jaret and I hired a babysitter and got ourselves out on a date!  Our first plans didn't work so we went with option number two: Restaurant Crawl.

We had a salad at Audreys Pizza, our main dish at Jonny Corinos, and dessert at Old Chicago.  Yum!

To our surprise, we didn't have to wait for a table at any of these normally crowded on Friday night restaurants!

While at Jonny Corinos we YouTubed how to make boats and created them!  Then we colored them over dessert at Old Chicago.

  Jaret's was the Black Pearl.
(Sorry, upside down)

Bottom of Jarets.

Mine was, "Ze foat a boat a".

Knowing our materials would be less then water resistant I decided to put a "water gaurd" on the bottom of my boat.

Time to float them!  The water guard didn't work.  Mine collapsed within probably five seconds.  I think my note on the inside of the boat was the cause.  Jarets boat quickly took the lead then they both sank.  I think the Black Pearl had treasure on the ship if anyone wants to go deep river diving and look for it.

Making Cookies

Holland and Brecken helped make our first ever sugar cookies.  They helped put the ingredients together then cut the cookies out with the new cookie cutters Holland got from her Grandma.  They turned out alright!  Not much can go wrong when you use Rainbow Chip Frosting.

Brooklyn stayed in the corner and covered herself and the floor with Pork n Beans.

Later on she decided she needed to drink a smoothie out of a cup all by herself.

It was also a success!
