Holla Holla Holla

So, my guess is that the jealousy has caught up with our daughter.  That and sleep deprivation.  We've got a serial biter.  It seems like most kids leave with Holland's fang marks imprinted in their hand or arm.  She even bit an innocent little baby at Brooklyn's blessing gathering on Sunday.  I broke down and started bawling when I saw the imprint.  Thus far mothers have been very gracious and understanding but who is going to want to consistently invite a vampire kid over to enjoy their kid for lunch? Not me. We will soon be banned from every play group, family gathering, and park.  We'll be banished to our home and quarantined until the plague is fixed. Perhaps this recently growing habit stems from a build up of Holland wanting more attention since Brooklyn was born.  Maybe it's from her lack of a good nights sleep due to her chronic cough.  She's obviously at the age where biting is not surprising but it sure is painful for the poor victims and my nerves.  Whatever the cause, my efforts are in full force to see if we can tame my child's beastly ways.

Cough you say?  Yes.  This is no two or three weeker.  Try a cough that has lasted since February. What is that?  Three or four months? Every time Jaret and I would hear it we would cringe.  She got to the point where she would point at her crib and say, "ouey"(sp), each time she would wake up and be put down to sleep. We have brought her in to the doctor several times and been sent home with the hope that waiting it out will result in it going away.   We did have her on antibiotics at one point but she decided that she would be allergic to her medicine and get a bright red rash that convinced us that she had the chicken pox.  So, we stopped that treatment and went back to hoping. It's obviously not gone. This past week the cough got worse.  We took her in yet again and decided we weren't leaving without a prescription.  Luckily the doctor agreed and didn't need any convincing.  It's been three days now and I think it's starting to work!  At night, instead of hearing hacking I hear peace.  Holland has decided that she enjoys sleeping without coughing so much that she has added an hour to her bedtime schedule as well as to her afternoon nap schedule!  Yay!  The best result is that my little terror is a lot happier.

Is this the cure for her biting?  Probably not.  She bit her friend this morning. Holla Holla Holla. Sad day.

My little brother was a serial biter too. SO MANY times that little terror drew blood! Hopefully she calms down a bit.
