103.8

Jaret made reservations for us to go to The Bay for Valentines Day.  After a long day of coaching and reffing I got home and rushed to get ready while Jaret headed for a short work out at the gym. Holland fell asleep on the floor while drinking her bottle, which caused me to raise an eyebrow.  This wasn't typical of her.  Just like any mom would do, I utilized my time and pulled myself together.  Holland woke up a whole hour later and felt warm to me.  I checked her temperature and sure enough, it was high.  Using the thermometer that read on the low end I found her temperature to be 103.8 degrees.  So, instead of going to The Bay, we took a 7pm trip to visit the pediatrician on call.  After a few questions, Dr. Blake said we better bring her in.  He ruled a few concerns out and sent us on our way with the seasonal flu that is going around. We couldn't seem to get Hollands temperature down with the Ibuprophen we had and she would hardly drink an ounce of formula at a time. She was sleeping a lot and didn't want to smile or be up and about.  She just cuddled with mom and dad.  After 24 hours of cool baths, wet rags on Hollands forehead, and attempting to get her to drink all sorts of liquids (not to mention worrying) we figured out that the acetaminophen would do the trick and bring her temp. down (I love drugs).    Though Holland is still working on getting her appetite back, the end of this tale is that she is up n' about and  back to screaming and smiling!  Yeah!

Oh no! I'm glad you were able to get her feeling better. And that second photo where she's laying on Jaret is precious; she looks like a little china doll!

I'm so sorry! Kids being sick is the hardest thing for me to handle as a parent so I always feel bad for anyone who has a sick kid. I hate the feeling of not being able to make them better right away. Good Luck!
