My Little Ballers

My Little Ballers had their first game today.  Victory!

It has been a jam packed week full of racking my brain trying to figure out how to take everything about basketball out of my head and pack it into my 7th graders heads.  I love seeing them progress and improve each day.  I'm kind of surprised how much work goes into coaching a 7th grade basketball team, but I like it.  I also think it's good for me because a lot of my old baller passion comes back.  I need some of my old spice now and then.  Two months of this should satisfy me for a while.  If only I could have more than just the spice back and have that good ol' figure back.... huhuhuhuhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Officiating basketball, on the other hand, is another thing.  I often ask myself why I put myself through this self inflicted torture...I'm seeing a trend.  I've been asking myself a lot of questions lately.... Anyway, I had a surprise evaluation the other day.  If that doesn't add enough heat, the coach of my first game was over our reffing pool and I knew a coach, and some players and parents of the second game.  Officiating basketball is harder than working as a coach, athlete, or fan by far....I think being a fan is the easiest ;)  I'm just glad I made it out alive!

More good news on top of our win today - Jaret and I finally cleared both storage units completely out!  We spent all of our after Christmas break going through things, and hauling things around Bozeman to the Thrift Store and Dump.  We also had some great help from some members of the ward.  We still have a bunch of files to go through and some stuff to sell, but the pressure to get stuff out of those units is off!  Whew!

To end this random entry, I add that Holland rolled over today...I think.  She may have had help from the sloping couch :)  She also decided to start doing this fake cough thing.  It sounds fake anyway.  Way cute.
