It is 11:20pm on New Years Eve. As I was flossing my teeth my husband started brushing his. I had the urge to turn his running water off. I'm pretty sure it was my dad who engrained it in me to conserve...especially water. As I resisted the urge to save the fishes I was brought back to a childhood memory.
When I was in Grade school one of my teachers wanted to make a point. I'm pretty sure that her point wasn't this one that I actually remember. She asked the class how many of us turned the water off while brushing our teeth. I was the only one who raised my hand. She questioned my honesty and I affirmed that I brushed my teeth flow free. The point that I remember is that she made it clear that she thought I was lying.
Isn't that a funny memory?
Two more, since it's New Years Eve.
My one New Years Eve in the Netherlands was miserable! I awoke to fireworks and a crazy crowd who had made a Bon Fire outside my window. Chaos. Vacant house being ripped to shreds and thrown in the fire along side of tires, peoples trash, Christmas trees, bikes, and more. I didn't get much sleep that night.
Last but not least, I remember running around my neighbor hood on this holiday. Pot and spoon in hand I was obnoxious. I'm glad no one in Ennis would do that. I'll let you know if I wake up to a bong or bon fire in a half hour.
Happy New Year in 29 minutes! Good night.
