Brooklyn

Brooklyn is walking!  I guess it's been official since around St. Patrick's day. Jaret and I have been impressed with how good she's gotten in just a few days.  She practices A LOT.  It's so cute.  She looks like she's walking on little stilts.  She and poor little Holland have been sporting some pretty intense colds and as Brooklyn has been walking around she will catch my eye and just grin back with her red, puffy, watery eyes.  It's so adorable yet heart breaking to know she's so miserable.  In spite of her ailment she hasn't missed a beat.  She's still up and into everything...especially with her partner in crime.  Today, I had to do the ol' smack on the back thing when I thought she was chocking on a grape her sister had given her.

Brooklyn's favorite thing to do is to get into the garbage can.  She loves it especially when it's overflowing from cooking dinner and nasty with all of the juicy treats from earlier in the day.  Her rummaging is a good incentive to take the garbage out.  Sometimes I resort to putting it on the counter.  Brooklyn has learned how to throw a huge fit when she doesn't get what she wants.  Especially when I take the garbage away.  I wonder who she learned that from?  Though Holland does plenty of tormenting and gets in trouble for squeezing, hitting, steeling and closing doors on fingers, I've actually learned that half of the screeches Brooklyn lets loose are due to her own self inflicted annoyances and getting herself into binds.  I had to put the fireplace gate away today because she managed to pull it's anchor out of the wall onto herself and fall partway into a small box and get awkwardly stuck.

Anyway, my kiddos are a delight and I'm learning to enjoy them more and more in spite of the fact that mothering is nothing like what I imagined....or was tricked into believing.  I'm blessed with a wonderful family!

I had nothing to do with the tricking. I am all about telling everyone how hard it is. The hardest and sweetest thing in the world.

Your doing a great job!
