Holland is not saying "dow dow" quite as often now. Instead, she is saying "Aw doane". This mean's she's all done. Both are adorable, but I have to admit that I have felt the first twinge of sadness in realizing that my first little girl is growing up. How do you capture all of your favorite moments and hold onto them forever? My timing doesn't seem to capture the moments on film; so, I guess this is my best option.
Holland has suddenly become such a sweet heart in the last two weeks. I'm not sure exactly why, but it seems to have helped by giving her a little more freedom. I will let her go outside and play in the yard while I keep an eye on her from the inside. I'm usually feeding Brooklyn or making dinner. I've been impressed with how well she stays in the boundaries I've set for her. She listens, understands, and communicates better than I expect. I feel like being a mother has become so much more fulfilling when I see her progressing so well.
One problem we're having a hard time overcoming, though, is biting!!!! Jaret and I have read books to her, talked to and lectured her, put her in timeout, and I have even gave her a swat on the bum but her little friends have continued to leave with bite marks on their arms. She does it sometimes out of anger when trying to get a toy and I am able to intervene before it gets too bad, but the worst bite mark she gave was to a little friend while they were just lounging on the couch. The poor girl had a bruise for over a week. I felt soooo bad.
