Jaret had a job interview today. I don't know who was more nervous for it, me or him. He looked so good in his suit when he walked out the door. We really tried to prepare by practicing questions and scenarios, but in the end everything just comes down to just being honest and giving the answers straight up. One of the scenario questions we talked about was, "If there were 10 Jarets how many would you hire?" Because I know what an upright person Jaret is, I would honestly hire all of them. That's why I'm so lucky, because I got to marry the only one :) Anyway, we find out if he gets a call back tomorrow night. It seems so far away, but I feel the most relief having the first interview out of the way. It is interesting how something like this can have such a huge influence on life.
After the interview, Jaret and I took Holland to get her shots that were long overdue. Poor thing did see what was coming. She was already cranky because we took her during nap time, so that didn't help when it came down to the actual pokes. The nurse was so nice and gave her a sucker. Then, Jaret and I held her and the wailing began. Needless to say, she knew she didn't like what was going on after the first poke. The last three were heart wrenching.
I've got my own doctors appointment in about and hour. Holland and I get to go and see how the little cookie is baking in the oven.
To top off an already unique day, I get to go watch the high school girls play at a basketball open gym. To my surprise, I received a call from Coach Rustan last night. He is the Varsity coach for girls basketball at Bozeman High School. He was very complimentary and said he'd heard good things about what I'd done with my seventh grade girls team last year and offered me a position as the Freshman B coach to work along side of my friend, Matt Adams. I was thrilled for the offer and accepted. I think Coach Rustan was surprised that I accepted without having to take time to think about it. I asked Jaret while the coach was still on the phone and before I could even get the question out Jaret had said yes, and I told the coach yes. Coach Rustan asked if we needed to talk about it or think it over but I knew what Jaret would say before I asked him. He has been trying to get me to go out for coaching for a while. Jaret knows that if I stay involved with basketball I am happier for the distraction from every day life and because I am doing something I'm passionate about. So, I get to go familiarize myself with some of the girls tonight and I'll jump right in with both feet. The timing seems perfect because I'm feeling less morning sickness and the baby will come about a month and a half after that. It will be a huge time commitment but I look forward to being there. I love basketball and I love to teach it.
So, this day has already brought and will bring a lot of excitement to our lives. We'll see what degree it stays at by the end of the week when we find out the verdict of Jaret's job interview. Ahhhh! It's nerve wracking!
